It was a great (albeit windy) day for The Academy @ Dragonfire's first show of the season. For many, this was either their first show ever or their first Combined Test. There was something for everyone as the classes ranged from Walk Trot Dressage and "rails-on-the-ground" to Preliminary Level Dressage and jumping. Everyone showed up prepared and did their best... a group that would make any trainer proud.
Sheldon Feed again sponsored the prizes for the show, which were incredibly generous. Please make sure to check them out for all of your stable needs. We had a great crew of volunteers, and a super judge in Barbara Fleming. Our thanks to them, and also to Nancy Dein for all of the photos she took that day.Without all of you, we wouldn't be able to have such a wonderful venue for our Academy riders to show what they have learned.

Let's Go DF or "Scotty" is a Sport Horse fanatic's dream. He is royally bred by Linaro ( a long time favorite in the Holsteiner registry) and out of Rani D (full sister to USDF champions). He is tall, very stoutly built, and incredibly charismatic. He doesn't move like other horses, rather he floats as if he has rubber for joints. Dragonfire student, Cynthia Buendia, was in great form at the Lonetree Hunter Paces with her adorable partner, Houston. The pair raked in top ribbons all day while enjoying the green grass and fine weather. Thanks for doing DF proud, keep up the good work!
And now for the big news from the April Ram Tap, even if it is a little on the late side. Tracy Felt took over the reins on her own horse, Infinite, to claim third in their first ever Training Level round together. Tracy had a great time piloting this talented character around the courses, and "Nate-the-Great" showed the adoring masses how much he enjoys his work. Nate is by our own Dragonfire Kirin and out of a race bred TB dam, a cross we duplicated with the winning young mare, Miss Jeanie C. We can't wait to see what both of these young stars accomplish with their talented owner/riders!
This yearling filly has it all! Dragonfire Hopeful (Dragonfire Kirin x Coulee Bend Anticipation) is a full sibling to both Dragonfire Lotus and Dragonfire Feng Shui, both very promising Three Day Eventers. Her blood is filled with World Champion performers and Sport Horse Champions. She has extraordinary rhythm, we have never seen a Morgan with such a beautiful hesitation in their stride. And if that weren't enough, she will bring high drama to her performances with tons of white and a white/blonde mane. To top it off, she is as easy going as they come and sweet as honey.
