We've Added Some Spice To Our Program

A spicy new Morgan colt has arrived at Dragonfire! Dragonfire Wasabi was born early on May 18th, 2010 after much anticipation. By the World Champion Western Pleasure horse, Grand Cru Beaujolais, and out of Dragonfire Nova, "Pepper" is destined to be a spectacular show prospect. His sire is himself a World Champion and directly related to some of the nation's most successful Western horses. Pepper's dam is by the Multi-World Champion, Dragonfire Kirin, and is also the dam of Dragonfire Shaolin (Reserve World Champion Three Year Old Park Harness) and Dragonfire Nefertiti (Reserve World Champion Ladies Hunter Pleasure).

New Arrival at Dragonfire

Spring has sprung at Dragonfire! And amongst all of the green grass and amazing flowers we have had this year, our first foal has arrived. Nick named 'Charlie' by Taylor, this spunky colt is out of my good Holst/TB mare, Rani D and by the great Dressage champion, Dragonfire Kirin. We look forward to Charlie's undoubted career as an Event horse.

Student of the Month: Leida Mangang

We are proud to announce Leida Mangang as our latest Student of the Month!

Leida is a Level 2 Rider and is working fast and furious to achieve becoming a Level 3 Academy Rider. Not only does she show her initiative in her horse management studies, we can always count on Leida's independence as she insists on getting her horse ready completely alone. She is also the first to help out other students when they are in need. Leida is respectful, caring, prompt, and willing to try anything asked of her without hesitation. Not only that, she is perfectly dressed with appropriate hair (well most of the time! ;-).

Leida has that perfect blend of being competitive but with great sportsmanship at horse shows, which is so rare in individuals so young. She quietly brought all of her skills to the table with an amazing pattern at our April Academy Show and graciously received her first blue ribbon! Win or not, Leida has an extremely supportive family to cheer her on as she strives for higher equestrian goals.

Dragonfire Two Year Olds Dominate the Ram Tap FEH

At the Ram Tap Future Event Horse competition, Dragonfire topped the large field of two year olds with Rouge et Blanc DF and Highland Empress. Both entries were expertly lead by Earl McFall.

The striking chestnut gelding trimmed in tons of white, Rouge et Blanc DF, is by Dragonfire Kirin and out of the thoroughbred mare, A Buccaneer's Life. He won the Two Year Old Colt Class, and was the highest scoring two year old overall. Clearly impressed with 'Roger', Judge Linnan commented, 'elegant head and neck', 'balanced frame with harmonious top line', and 'shows inner confidence'. Roger was truly a class act as he performed like a seasoned veteran.

Highland Empress, a bay ISH filly by the late Master Imp and out of Highland Royale garnered the blue ribbon in the Two Year Old Filly Class. 'Jade' was ever so lovely as she wowed the crowd with her star quality.

The future looks bright for Roger and Jade, as both of these youngsters were bred to be top event horses.
