Congratulations to Meghan Lawrence on her purchase of Shanghai DF. This four year old Thoroughbred gelding has star material just oozing out of his pores, and couldn't be more excited about his new job as an event horse. Good thing Meghan has high aspirations, because "Forest" is a true go-getter who takes on a challenge with relish. We can't wait to see the heights they can reach together as their adventure unfolds.

Congratulations to Rouge Et Blanc DF and owner Madison Langerak on a fantastic Summer season that culminated in winning the 2013 National Half Morgan Event Horse of the year! Rouge Et Blanc DF is by the Morgan sire, Dragonfire Kirin, and out of the Thoroughbred mare, A Buccaneer's Life. His kind and willing nature combined with his superior form over a fence makes for a highly competitive horse in the event world.
"Roger" and Madison are a serious team to watch as they are strong in the Dressage, and remain penalty free after that. We wish them great success in 2014!!

Ride Times For February 8th Bea DiGrazia Dressage Clinic

We are so excited to welcome Bea DiGrazia to Dragonfire as a valued clinician. Her eventing roots are deep, as growing up, her family could be considered the "First Family of Eventing". She has not only won Young Rider Championships in Eventing and gathered top places in the World's toughest International Championships, but she has also been on United States High Performance teams in Eventing, Dressage, and skiing! Her students have been highly successfully Internationally, representing their countries at Junior, PanAm, and Olympic Championships. Bea's strong knowledge of event horses competing in Dressage is unparalleled in our country and we are truly lucky to have her here. And as a bonus, her impish humor will keep you relaxed and ready to learn!

Please be ready and warmed up before your ride time so that not only can we keep our tight schedule running smoothly, but also so you can get the most out of your lesson as possible.

Deer Creek Pony Club Begins 2014 Meetings At Dragonfire

Deer Creek Pony Club began it's 2014 season with its first unmounted meeting at Dragonfire last night. Taylor McFall (D3) started the evening with a braiding demonstration and invited other club members to try their hands at braiding her ponies, Prince and Rosie. C1, Nutty Davis then had a wonderful diagram prepared on the anatomy of an equine leg, as well as a model of the bone structure that the members passed around.  Jennifer McFall finished the night with an evaluation of conformation on 3*** Event Horse, High Times, 4 year Old Young Event Horse Champion, Classic Twain DF, and finally Miss Ruby Slippers, a champion Morgan Western Pleasure mare. Members were able to compare the builds of the different horses and see how function follows form.

Deer Creek is still accepting members and has a wonderful 2014 season planned filled with informative lectures, riding, rallies and field trips for members of all ages. Don't miss out!!!

2013 Student Of The Year: Cori Davis

A coach's pride after an amazing ride.

We are very proud to announce that Team DF's 2013 Student of the Year is Cori Davis. Cori's quiet determination and faith in her horse, A Golden Effort, have been major factors in her monumental climb this past year. Combined with the fact that Cori never stops competing, especially in clutch moments or at times when a sense of humor is required, and you have a clear path to success.

Believe to achieve.

2013 began with Cori at the Preliminary level, and a maiden FEI rider. With talent, guts, and an aggressive plan, 2013 ended with Cori catapulting herself successfully into the CCI** ranks and onto the Eventing 25 High Performance training squad with US Coach, David O'Connor. 

A perfect pair.

Cori's 2014 goals include representing Area VI at the North American Young Rider Championships at the 2** level, a lofty goal we have no doubt she can achieve. Cori's busy schedule doesn't stop there, as she will also continue her studies at college as well as teach future stars to ride in the Academy@Dragonfire, along with spending evenings as a hostess at a local restaurant. Keep up the hard work, Cori, it pays off. Congratulations, we are so proud!
