Deer Creek Pony Club began it's 2014 season with its first unmounted meeting at Dragonfire last night. Taylor McFall (D3) started the evening with a braiding demonstration and invited other club members to try their hands at braiding her ponies, Prince and Rosie. C1, Nutty Davis then had a wonderful diagram prepared on the anatomy of an equine leg, as well as a model of the bone structure that the members passed around. Jennifer McFall finished the night with an evaluation of conformation on 3*** Event Horse, High Times, 4 year Old Young Event Horse Champion, Classic Twain DF, and finally Miss Ruby Slippers, a champion Morgan Western Pleasure mare. Members were able to compare the builds of the different horses and see how function follows form.
Deer Creek is still accepting members and has a wonderful 2014 season planned filled with informative lectures, riding, rallies and field trips for members of all ages. Don't miss out!!!
