Morgans Flex Their Might At The UCD Derby

Morgans showed the rest of the world just how tough they are to beat in Sport, with strong performances at the Spring UCD Derby. Both Merriewold Kasey, with Jennifer McFall riding, and Dragonfire Lotus, with Makena Graber in the irons, lead after their Dressage Tests and then went on for double clear rounds to clinch the wins. Kasey was in the Open Novice class, where Makena and Lotus competed in the very large Open Beginner Novice.

Team DF At The Twin Rivers International Horse Trials And CCI

We had several firsts at the April Twin Rivers with Cori Davis and Caroline Dein both tackling their maiden runs at the CCI* level, Tracy Felt doing her first Training Three Day, Raynyday Final Salute debuting in the Intro class, and new students getting a taste of Team DF's great camaraderie. Another first... Wine Tasting. Why it took our group so long to enjoy Paso Robles' great wineries, the world may never know, but I do know that there were many cases brought home and I came away with some great olive oil as well!

Team DF has the cutest vet box pit crew.

Cori Davis and A Golden Effort make their first CCI* look like a walk in the park with an eventual 12th place finish against top horses and riders.

Caroline Dein and Lucid Opposition continue to grow in their partnership.  The Twin Rivers CCI* was a great experience for them as they move up the ranks of Eventing.

Tim Terrific's quick ascent to the Preliminary level with Earl McFall is nothing short of impressive.

Art In Motion and Natalie Jensen tear up the Training Level cross country track at Twin Rivers.

It takes an 18 hander like Remington Steele to make Earl look normal sized on a horse.

Ashleigh Guich and her own My Nevada Chance had great first trip around the Training level course after a break from showing.

Who likes moving back up to Training more? Tiger Lily or rider Caroline Dein?

Amanda Blake and Walter Farley take a beautiful picture in the wine country, as well as third place in the Junior Novice.

Earl McFall and David Adamo admire Sophia Zier as she drops beautifully into the Training water with Global Children.

Merriewold Kasey and Jennifer McFall started their partnership in the Novice at Twin Rivers.  Kasey had a beautiful Dressage test. Click here to watch it!

Infinite and Tracy Felt are too fast for the camera in the T3D Steeplechase.

Megan Soske and Windfall quietly wait for their Novice round on Sunday.

Sophia Zier piloted Raynyday Final Salute with confidence and finished with a sixth place at his first event.

High Times had his final prep before heading East to the Jersey Fresh CCI*** by doing an Intermediate combined test. His Dressage was much improved and he had an exuberant and clear stadium round. Click here to watch it!

Team DF's Galway Recap

The last week of March was an absolutely glorious time spent in Temecula, CA for the Galway Downs International Horse Trials. The weather could not have been more perfect, and of course, we have the most wonderful team of riders, horses and supportive parents that make our barn so special. We have two new fledgeling FEI Riders on Team DF now in our own 2012 Student of the Year, Caroline Dein and Cori Davis.  They both looked stunning in their newly earned tails in the Dressage court and really did us proud by going double clear in their cross country rounds. Everyone pitched in and kept the vet box running smoothly, and we even managed to help some other competitors cool their horses out as well. Way to put out the effort on Saturday, guys. Well done!

High Times and Jennifer McFall have a clear round in the CIC*** cross country.

High Times and Jennifer McFall give a beautiful performance for a sixth place finish in the CIC***.

A Golden Effort and Cori Davis were one of only three double clear rounds in the CIC* Show Jumping.  This performance combined with their double clear cross country landed them in seventh place in their first ever FEI competition. They were also the highest placed Young Rider team in the large CIC* field of contestants.

2012 Student of the Year, Caroline Dein, gave a foot perfect performance on Lucid Opposition in her first ever CIC* cross country. Their double clear round was spot on.
Sophia Zier and Global Children had their all time best three phases in the Training Level division. This pair has made an exceptional amount of progress this Spring and promises to have an exciting Summer season ahead.
Having Tracy Felt back at the shows was like having the whole family together for Thanksgiving. She and Infinite looked great in the Senior Training and we can't wait to see what they can do in their upcoming Training Three Day.
Leading from start to finish were Cori Davis and Willingness. With three strong phases, this team was unmatched in the Senior Novice.

Amy Doucette's flashy mare, Daisy, continues to show extreme talent with Earl McFall in the irons. In her first Novice, she was seventh over all in a very large class.

After several years off in the breeding field, Caroline Dein's mare, Tigerlily, is back in action and as beautiful as ever. Her enthusiasm for the show was obvious in her two double clear rounds on the Novice division.

Introducing Classic Twain DF

Classic Twain DF (The Twain x Sapphire Magic)

Classic Twain DF, or "Jake", is our oldest offering from our premier Thoroughbred stallion, The Twain. A stunning 16.1 hand, four year old chestnut gelding, Jake is a gleaming example of a Thoroughbred Event Horse prospect. He is uphill and of a strong, athletic build. He is clever, figuring out exercises and obstacles quickly and without stress. And he is extremely sensible, quiet and malleable. To top it all off, he is absolutely beautiful. We have all totally fallen head over heels for him in the short time that we have been working with him.

Jake's introduction to jumping was during a Hawley Bennett clinic where he completed both days with flying colors. He tackled lines of one strides, step poles and boxes, and even turning bounces! We've also taken him down to Galway Downs to familiarize him to the show scene where he was as cool as they come in all of that electric atmosphere.

Don't miss out on this special individual. He is truly a one-of-a-kind that will most certainly make someone's dreams come true!
